Nuremberg, 20 April 2021 (sr): The Nuremberg full-service provider for business aviation and air ambulance services has obtained official, comprehensive approval for its new maintenance station in Oberpfaffenhofen from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA), the German Federal Aviation Office. This means that Aero-Dienst is ready to start providing base und line maintenance services at its new location as part of its EASA Part 145 approval right away.

Aero-Dienst has been present here with its own business and ambulance aircraft since the 1960s. Steadily cultivated contacts with aircraft owners and operators grew into a comprehensive local network, which in turn resulted in Aero-Dienst’s long-standing presence at the Oberpfaffenhofen special-purpose airport and the solid business relationship between Aero-Dienst and the airport.

The airport’s expansion provided a convenient opportunity for Aero-Dienst to grow alongside it and strengthen its own technological base in Oberpfaffenhofen. The special-purpose airport is located 20km (12.5 miles) west of Munich and is considered the hub of Germany’s aerospace industry. Its location also makes it the ideal choice for qualified business aviation. In addition, it is unique in Germany as a development and research airport and the core element of the Oberpfaffenhofen Air Tech Campus.

In its brand new, fully equipped 7,400 ft2 hangar, Aero-Dienst supplies not only standard line services, but all MRO services for airframes, engines and avionic components, as well as interior work, modifications, upgrades and 24/7 AOG support.

“This move takes us and our aircraft maintenance considerably closer to our existing customers in the Munich metropolitan area,” explains Aero-Dienst’s Managing Director Viktor Peters. He adds: “Just as at our other locations, the backbone of the new setup is our excellent technical team. Over the course of a year, we took the time to get prepared, and we are now in a position to provide our customers with top-of-the-line, comprehensive Aero-Dienst service at the Oberpfaffenhofen location.”

Aero-Dienst exclusively employs licensed personnel there with decades of experience and expertise in the maintenance of business jets. Robert Blob, Station Manager in Oberpfaffenhofen, is proud of his team: “It goes without saying that our seven technicians have top-class qualifications (Certifying Staff EASA Part 66), and together they make up a well-established team who complement each other and whose cooperation spans many years.” Blob emphasizes the clear advantages of this: “Our lean organization means rapid decision-making processes and allows us to respond quickly, including in AOG cases. Our customers especially appreciate the direct contact with our aircraft experts, because direct communication and proximity make many aspects easier and pleasanter for both sides.”

In addition to its headquarters in Nuremberg, Aero-Dienst has been successfully operating two stations in Austria—at the airports in Vienna and Klagenfurt—for many years. Its component shop in Landsberg am Lech allows Aero-Dienst to provide fast and local repairs for maintenance operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
